Customer favorite

My dumb younger brother asked me, “What do you do with it?” I said, “You throw it. And you catch it. No glove required. Stop being dumb.” And he got into it. Highly recommended for everyone, including dumb brothers.

What people say after the first catch

  • Elizabeth V.Glove Tan

“It’s a workplace staple. Everyone I toss it to says “wow, this is cool.” They turn it over in their hand as and throw it back. It’s a connector. I didn’t know how much I needed a ball in my life again.”

  • Kristin K.Natural

“Great gift for anyone. Got it for my husband’s birthday and we throw it around the house, at school pick up, the yard, anywhere! Love that it’s not super heavy so it’s great for my young kids to play catch with.”

  • JD M.Glove Tan

“Really cool product. Heavy enough to throw naturally but soft enough to catch bare handed. Great size, weight, and feel.”

  • KSGlove Tan

“I saw it online. Bought it. Got it. Then first look, I’m like, ehhh. Maybe I’ll return it. But then when I got home I started tossing it around. My kids found joy in it. This ball turned out to be something cool!”

Questions people ask

Does it hurt to catch a Yardball bare-handed?

No. That's the whole idea. A Yardball is leather on the outside with a wool and cotton core, so it's soft enough to catch without a glove and still heavy enough to throw straight.

How big and heavy is it?

About 10 inches around and four ounces. It's bigger than a baseball, smaller than a softball and softer than both.

Is it a good ball for kids?

Lots of our reviews come from parents playing catch with their kids. It's softer than a baseball and made to be caught bare-handed, so a kid who can already play catch can play with a Yardball. For younger kids, use your judgment: it's a leather ball, not a foam one.

Where are Yardballs made?

By hand in Kansas City, Missouri, in a small workshop on Southwest Boulevard.

How do I leave a review?

After your order arrives, we'll email you a link to review your ball. You can also leave one at the bottom of any Yardball's page.
